eBay sends an ItemLost notification to a subscribed buyer when the buyer has lost an auction item due to not having the highest bid when the auction listing closed. The typical flow of events is:

  1. A third party subscribes to the ItemLost notification on behalf of a buyer.
  2. The buyer loses an item by not having the highest bid in an auction.
  3. eBay sends the ItemLost notification to the third party, indicating the user just lost an item.

Data Fields Returned

API Call that displays this notification: GetItem with default detail level

The data fields returned by the ItemLost notification are the same as those returned by GetItemResponse with default details requested. Refer to the GetItem call reference documentation for additional information.
